Your One-Week Adventure in Lapland's Nature

Day 1: Arrival & Campfire at the Sled Dog Kennel
Upon your arrival at Skellefteå Airport or Jörn Train Station, you will be warmly welcomed by us. The transfer to the sled dog farm will take place directly from the airport or train station. Upon reaching the farm, you can enjoy a hot beverage in the afternoon while taking in the first impressions of the stunning surroundings. You’ll then have the opportunity to settle into your cozy holiday home or explore the idyllic nature on your own. A short walk to the nearby frozen lake is highly recommended, offering you a chance to absorb the peace and beauty of the area. In the evening, we will gather for a communal dinner by the campfire in the middle of the sled dog kennel. Listen to the first stories about the original sled dogs and start forming a connection with these fascinating animals. With a bit of luck, the northern lights might already dance above our heads.

Day 2: First Adventure with the Sled Dogs
Strengthen yourself with a breakfast that you prepare yourself from a food basket before getting to know the Alaskan Malamutes better today. We will teach you the basic techniques of sledding and take you on your first sled ride. You'll ride as a passenger in our sled, allowing you to fully enjoy the breathtaking winter landscape. Along the way, we'll stop to prepare a small meal over an open fire and enjoy a warm drink. In the evening, you’ll return to your holiday home, where you can prepare your own dinner. Look forward to a relaxed evening, where you can reflect on the exciting day and prepare for the adventures ahead. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the northern lights after nightfall — just a few steps away from your accommodation’s lights will give you a perfect view.

Day 3: Tracking Reindeer and Moose
On the third day, after a hearty, self-prepared breakfast, you’ll embark on an exciting adventure through the Swedish wilderness. We’ll take you on a thrilling nature safari, exploring the deep Swedish forests on snowshoes. We’ll be on the lookout for reindeer and majestic moose as we journey through the picturesque landscape. During the safari, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch over an open fire, giving you the chance to fully savor the peace and stillness of nature. After returning to the sled dog farm, you’ll have some time to relax before preparing your dinner in the holiday home and unwinding for the next day.

Days 4-5: Overnight Tour with Sled Dogs and Northern Lights
Now that you’ve gained some experience with dog sledding, a special highlight awaits: a private two-day tour. You'll have the chance to experience the exciting nature up close and spend the night in a rustic wilderness cabin without electricity or running water. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch by the fire. Once we reach the wilderness cabin, we’ll first thank the sled dogs for their hard work before preparing dinner together around the campfire. The next morning, we’ll prepare everything for the return journey, and after a hearty breakfast, we’ll head back to the farm by sled. Enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings as you glide through the snow-covered landscape, interrupted only by the soft crunch of snow beneath the Malamutes' paws.
If you prefer to skip the wilderness overnight stay, you can stay in the guesthouse and take two daily sled tours instead.

Days 6 and 7: Your Own Adventure
The sixth and seventh days are at your disposal to tailor the adventure to your liking. After a relaxed, self-prepared breakfast, you can decide whether to visit the charming town of Arvidsjaur, where the Sami Museum awaits and you can browse through the small shops. Alternatively, you can book a spa experience at one of Lapland’s finest hotels. We can also set off to explore the impressive Vittjjaur Fjäll or the stunning rapids of Storforsen. You could also rent snowshoes and continue exploring the snowy surroundings. Whatever you choose, these two days offer you the opportunity to experience wintery Sweden in your own way.

Day 8: Farewell and Departure
On the last day of your journey, start the morning with a delicious breakfast to fuel you for your trip home. As you head back to Skellefteå Airport or Jörn Train Station, you’ll have the chance to take in the splendid views of the snow-covered winter forest one last time. With a bit of luck, you might even spot some reindeer or moose, perfectly rounding off your memories of this magical week in Swedish Lapland.

Accommodation:
The holiday house is beautifully situated at the edge of the forest, right next to the sled dog farm. You’ll enjoy complete privacy and an undisturbed stay as you’ll be the only guests during your visit. The sled dog farm places great importance on animal welfare and offers you an authentic experience in the Swedish wilderness. The howling of the sled dogs in the cold winter night will surely stay in your memory and intensify the atmosphere of this unforgettable journey. The house is 60 m², divided into two rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The bedroom includes a double bed and a bunk bed. The cozy living room features a spacious couch. The kitchen is equipped with a kitchenette, fridge-freezer, and a stove with a small oven. Towels and bed linen, as well as additional children's beds, are included.
Sustainability is important to us. Therefore, during your stay, we provide you with high-quality biodegradable shampoo, shower gel, soap, and eco-friendly cleaning products. This allows you to enjoy the beauty of Lapland while also protecting the environment.

Meals:
Two dinners by the campfire in the sled dog kennel are included during your stay. Lunches are taken over an open fire during the nature safari and sled dog tours. For all other meals, a food basket (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be provided for you to prepare in the holiday home.

Note:
A maximum of two adults and two children up to the age of 14 can participate in this trip per week. It is suitable for children aged 12 and up. If you choose to skip the wilderness overnight stay and opt for two daily husky tours instead, children aged 6 and up can join the trip. Please note that children are only allowed to drive sleds themselves from the age of 14, before that they can ride as passengers in the sled.
Please bring your own winter clothing and hiking boots for the snowshoe hike. Overalls and winter boots in standard sizes will be provided for your stay, but for the hike, you should have your own well-fitting and comfortable clothing.

Additional Information:
The order of tours and activities in this itinerary is exemplary and may vary, although the individual activities will take place as described. The exact order of activities will be provided on-site. The far north can experience fluctuating and unpredictable weather with significant temperature differences. The safety of guests and animals is the top priority. For this reason, we reserve the right to modify the travel itinerary and the scope of activities. This includes adjustments required by both insufficient (lack of snow) and excessive snow (snowstorms, extreme cold). In rare cases, necessary adjustments and alternatives will be based on the current conditions, which may include shorter daily stages or, in very rare cases, changes in the mode of transport (wheeled vehicles, ATVs). Feel free to contact us for a more detailed assessment of this region, the tour, and the travel period.
